Yahoo's Auto renew feature can not be dissabled, You have to dissable your account manually or transfer the domain name away before the renewal date, With the lack of a "Accept transfer" feature, any domain transfer from Yahoo will requier exactly 5 days after the process of verifeying the data along with the Domain Code is finished, so plan accordingly.

What is even more astonishing is a statement in the Yahoo help documentation that reads

"We also want to remind you that transferring your domain to a registrar other than Yahoo! does not automatically cancel your service or alter your fees."

So you will need to take appropriate measures to make sure that yahoo will not bill you for a service that you have already transfered to another provider
