GoDaddy is the worlds largest registrar in terms of the number of Domain Names registered
GoDaddy also operates other websites that share the same resources like WildWestDomains and Blue Razor, Other sister companies of godaddy do different stuff like for example, DomainsByProxy specialises in Private Registrations, while Starfield Technologies does the R&D and issues secure certificates.
GoDaddy sells it's own services at a price slightly higher than the price some of it's resellers, so buying the same product with the same tech support and using the same resources is cheaper from one of a WildWestDomains reseller who sell at the minimum price, Godaddy's third website selling the same service (Blue Razor) sells Cheaper than godaddy, and more expensive than Wild West Domains Resellers, for example, a .COM is at minimum $7.49 at wildwestdomains resellers, $8.99 at BlueRazor, and $10.69 at Godaddy.com.
It may be worth mentioning that the number of domains managed at Blue Razor is declining, BlueRazor currently has less than 80,000 domains.
in 2009, Godaddy reached more than 36 million domain registrations (Excluding resellers and BlueRazor), and is by far the world's largest "shared web hosting" provider, Godaddy is owned by Bob Parsons.
